Setting Up The CoreFTP Client

Downloading
You can obtain CoreFTP from the CoreFTP download page.
Follow the Installation package link.
You should save the installer to an easily accessible location such as your Windows desktop or your My Documents folder.
Connecting to a FTP server
In order to connect to a FTP server, we will first set up a site in the Site Manager.
To get to the Site Manager, click on the arrows button on the top left hand of the screen or the arrow button on the right side of the main window.
Once you have started up the site manager, the first thing you want to do is click on the "new site" button. This will set up a new site profile that we will use to connect to a FTP server.
The most critical pieces of information that are needed to connect to a server are:
1: Host, Internet Address (IP), or URL.
2: Username
3: Password
The only additional information is an alternative port. In most cases the port will always be 21 for standard and SSL FTP connections and 22 for SSH.
Upon successful connection, you will see the right (remote) list of files listed. These are files that are on the remote server.
To upload a file to the FTP server, all you have to do is select (high-light) the file to upload in the local directory listing, and then click on the upload button.
You can alternatively right click on the selected file, and select upload, or click and drag the file over to the remote directory listing.
Once you have pressed the upload button, Core FTP will transfer the file to the remote server.
When the transfer is complete, you should see the remote file in the remote directory listing.
If the file has been uploaded to the server successfully, it can now be viewed in a web browser.
